On 29 June 2020, TCL Electronics announced the full integration of TCL Communication to accelerate the implementation of the company's AI x IoT strategy. Custom manufacturing
TCL Communication has a single in-house factory audited by major telecom operators and awarded for CSR and transparency, ensuring manufacturing and quality control. It has an annual capacity of up to 120 million units and is equipped with a leading SMT production line and MMI automatic testing systems.

Award- winning display technology
Vertical integration of our business units with TCL Technology Group Corporation (TCL TECH) allows TCL Communication to deliver award-winning TCL display technology within our mobile device portfolio. The portfolio began in 2018 with the introduction of our new range of Alcatel smartphones, becoming the first brand in the world to deliver an immersive 18:9 display experience across each product series in its 2018 portfolio. At MWC 2019, TCL Communication showcased a complete lineup of its flexible panel mobile devices including tablet, smartphone and wearables for the first time. These accomplishments were made possible through TCL's custom-built displays produced in long-term partnership with China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), a sister company of TCL Communication under TCL TECH. CSOT is one of the worldwide leaders in LCD panels as well as LTPS, AMOLED and advanced display technologies, including flexible displays.
OUR 5G FUTURE
TCL Communication is among the select few technology companies in the world with licenses for 2G, 2.5G, 2.75G, 3G, 4G and 5G patented technology. TCL Communication started engaging in 5G research and development as early as 2015, actively participating in standard customization ever since. In 2018, TCL Communication completed a commercial trial with its 5G terminal devices.

In 2019, TCL Communication showcased one of the first commercial 5G terminal products, the 5G Terminal, at the China Unicom Partner Conference. At MWC SHANGHAI 2019, the China Unicom and TCL Communication 5G Terminal Innovation Joint R&D Center was established.

Today, it continues to work with carriers and other technology partners to accelerate the development of the 5G terminal industry and incubate 5G products at its 5G innovation labs in Sophia Antipolis, France and Shanghai, China staffed by an international 5G team of PhD experts and engineers.
OUR AI x IoT strategy
TCL's AI x IoT strategy focuses on helping users start their journey toward a smarter home and life. It merges hardware, software, connectivity and fusion into comprehensive solutions that help users create smart, convenient, secure and environmentally responsible lives.

TCL has established a comprehensive End, Edge and Cloud IoT ecosystem of devices. The ecosystem works with the world's top cloud services to provide connection and convenience that serve users' needs anytime, anywhere using their smart phones and TVs as central hubs of control.

Dedicated to furthering AI x IoT, TCL has increased its AI R&D investments, establishing labs and engaging in numerous collaborations to ensure it's on the cutting edge of technological advancement:

August 2017: TCL enters into a strategic partnership agreement with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to collaborate on AI development and big data research.

June 2018: TCL Communication and the TCL Industrial Technology Research Institute create the joint Artificial Intelligence Design Center in Shenzhen to foster innovation.

September 2018: TCL establishes an AI R&D center in Warsaw, Poland, collaborating with local universities including the Warsaw University of Technology and the University of Warsaw. It focuses on AI-related research based on deep learning including computer vision, natural language processing and big data analysis.

September 2019: TCL opens its dedicated Eagle Lab in Shenzhen. It has a team of 200 AI algorithm engineers and 100 IoT and cloud developers specializing in the electronics, telecommunication, internet and finance industries. The lab develops technology that maximizes TCL's technical capabilities using AI, IoT and cloud services, aiding all of its product categories as a single R&D platform.

TCL will continue expanding its smart home offerings with enhanced infrastructure and more comprehensive services, continually building a superior product and service experience for users around the world.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
TCL Communication is committed to being a responsible corporate steward in its local communities and abroad. TCL Communication received a Gold Rating from the EcoVadis Business Sustainability Ratings in 2017 and received an award from the Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC) in 2018.
